Hydroponic Vegetables Market Is Expanding As Argus Control Systems Ltd. Partners With Hydrofarm Holdings Group Inc. To Offer Advanced Environmental Systems And Services

Hydroponic Vegetables Market

Hydroponic gardening literally means "water-grow or die", thus hydroponic vegetables growing are those that actually survive and most likely to thrive, in nutrient-rich water. Hydroponic gardening is based on the theory of water conservation. Basically, hydroponics is an attempt to duplicate the natural growing process of plants by using similar water and nutrient systems. Consumers across the globe are increasingly preferring organic food products due to rising awareness regarding the health benefits of these products. As a result of this, the demand for locally and regionally produced vegetables is witnessing rising. Hydroponic vegetables offer year-round production in a timely manner, which is healthy and cost-effective. The process involved in hydroponic agriculture is meticulous where systems are controlled in such a way to monitor the nutritive content. Such advantages can significantly augment growth of the hydroponic vegetables market.

Similar to high demand for organic products, consumers are increasingly preferring clean label products. A clean label product refers to any food product that has fewer and simpler ingredients. Many foods and beverage companies have started launching clean label products, in order to cater to their demand. Recently, in May 2019, Ingredion launched new clean label starches NOVATION Lumina. Similarly, in September 2020, Chr Hansen launched a new clean label product FruitMax Yellow 1000 WSS turmeric food coloring that can be used in ice cream, confectionery, and meals. Hence, such products can stimulate growth of the global hydroponic vegetables market.

Recently, in January 2019, Argus Control Systems Ltd. partnered with Hydrofarm Holdings Group Inc. to offer advanced environmental systems and services for horticultural production in the U.S.

Hydroponic crops absorb nutrients from their surrounding atmosphere, just as they would from a plant that grows in the ground. Hydroponic vegetables contain plentiful amounts of both soluble and insoluble fiber and these two kinds of fiber are what make up a plant's nutritional makeup. Over the years, there has been high consumption of fresh farm and natural products in emerging regions such as Asia Pacific and MEA. Since there has been a drop in the cost of exotic vegetables, the regional hydroponic vegetables market is likely to bolster in the near future. Similarly, there is high demand for hydroponic vegetables in North America since there is a high preference for farm-fresh produce.

Hydroponic crops are grown and harvested in the same way that their counterparts in the ground are. Growing them involves replanting a seedling into a tray filled with a shallow dish of water. The growing medium in the tray is composed of an appropriate ratio of organic elements, which are natural for the particular vegetable, and perlite. Despite these advantages, there are certain challenges that can negatively impact the demand for hydroponic vegetables. Hydroponic agriculture leads to high energy consumption as compared to conventional farming. Hence, these adversities can limit growth of the hydroponic vegetables market.
