In-Vehicle Emergency Calling System Market Is Growing Rapidly With Bosch Launching Its Ecall Solution In India With Ecall Service Being Available 24/7 And 365 Days Per Year
The first thing that is absolutely necessary for an automobile tracking system is an in-vehicle emergency call box. This equipment must be located, protected, and waterproof to protect it from weather conditions and exterior harm. Some automobile emergency call systems come with the ability to monitor and control the communications of a number of communication devices simultaneously, so if there is more than one vehicle in the emergency service area, all of the units can be linked up to the emergency call box in the same vehicle. One key factor aiding the adoption of an in-vehicle emergency call system is that newly launched emergency systems are far more sophisticated and efficient. As a matter of fact, new emergency systems are equipped with automated voice responses, wherein the voice response would be delivered to an emergency service provider. This would further deploy airbags in vehicles. Thus, such features can stimulate growth of the in-vehicle emergency calling system market.
Another way to integrate the emergency system into the in-vehicle emergency call center is to use pre-recorded audio messages. The messages can be custom-tailored to each individual case and contain personal information pertinent to the case. Recently, in December 2019, Bosch launched its eCall solution in India with eCall service being available 24/7 and 365 days per year.
Moreover, the in-vehicle emergency calling/tracking system should have the capability of linking up with the emergency call center, and all of the emergency centers monitoring the local area network. As each vehicle comes into the main roadway of the emergency service area, the communication system should be able to send an emergency call to the designated centers. As advantageous as this novel system is, there are certain factors that are bound to limit its adoption in the near future, especially in emerging economies such as India, Brazil, China, Indonesia, and South Africa. One reason for this is that there is no well-established infrastructure, in order to deploy emergency alerts in vehicles. Hence, such factors can potentially impede growth of the in-vehicle emergency calling system market.
Another important consideration is that the software should allow the operators to transfer all applicable medical information from the patient's EMR to the emergency response personnel. Government authorities in many countries have started implementing strict regulations related to the safety of vehicle drivers and passengers. For this, some countries have begun imposing stringent policies to install in-vehicle emergency calling systems in commercial as well as passenger vehicles. Recently, in March 2018, the European Union (EU) announced that it is mandatory to include eCall, the automated emergency call system in all new models of the car launched since March 31, 2018, in the EU. Hence, such stringent regulations can potentially accelerate growth of the in-vehicle emergency calling system market in the near future.
