The Demand for Car Security Has Increased Due to Increasing Incidence of Car Theft
Car security is an intelligent electronic device that is installed in the car/vehicle to prevent theft of a vehicle, the contents in it, or both. However, the car security system is completely depends on the type of car. For example, premium cars are equipped with high-end and cutting-edge car security systems. A wide variety of car security systems are available on the market, such as immobilizer system, which prevent the car from being driven away by locking steering, pedals, or gear, for people in position. Car alarm is the most commonly used car security system.
A car alarm, an electronic device, works by emitting high-volume sound when the conditions necessary for triggering it are met. Car alarms notify the car's owner of the incident through a paging system. The good alarm systems now available are either retro-fit systems or factory fitted. They use electronic sirens and generate an audible signal when arming and disarming. The purpose of the alarm, car security system, is to monitor the vehicle for theft or vandalism. When the system detects such activity, it activates a loud siren.
Many new vehicles use computerized data networks to control and monitor functions. Door lock control, factory alarm system control, door and hood status, and even horn activation are all done digitally through a vehicle integration module. Increasing car thefts worldwide has forced car owners to deploy advanced security systems in their vehicles. Moreover, several governments worldwide are promoting car security systems for the same. Thus, the increasing adoption or implementation of such systems is expected to boost the demand for car security.
In the U.S., the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are the primary agencies that regulate the automotive industry. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), there were an estimated 721,885 thefts of motor vehicles nationwide in 2019. Thus, the demand for car security is increasing in the U.S.
